2026 Coaches Package

Hello Coaches!

Let's kick off the 2026 Youth Provincials! 

Thank you to all who attended the Coaches Technical Meeting.

Safe Sport Training - Did you complete yours?

To ensure a safe, development-focused, and positive experience for all participants, the following coaching requirements are in place for the 2026 Youth Provincials:

  • Safe Sport Training is required for all coaches to participate in the 2026 Youth Provincials. It is offered through the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) and is free to complete.

  • NCCP FUNdamentals is the minimum recommended coaching certification for all teams participating in the 2026 Youth Provincials.

  • Coach & Bench Conduct requires all coaches must follow ABA’s Code of Conduct, treat officials respectfully, and model positive behaviour at all times. Each team must have an adult coach (18+) on the bench for all games.

  • Rule of Two must be followed to ensure two screened adults (18+) are present with athletes at all times. If not possible, interactions must be open, observable, and interruptible.

  • CMBA Staff ID Cards are required for all coaches to participate in the 2026 Youth Provincials from the Calgary zones. Cards must be shown to officials during pre-game meetings of each game then placed on the score table. Procedures for offenses and non-compliance will proceed the same as CMBA regular standards. Coaches Packages

Packages are available for pick up at your first game location on Friday, March 6th or Saturday, March 7th. 

Please locate Headquarters to collect your Coaches Package. 

Included in each package; 

- Player and Coach Participant T-shirts 

- 3 - Player of the Game Cards to acknowledge one of your players from each of your games

If you require a different size in shirt please return to Headquarters to exchange. 

 

Headquarters & Merchandise: There will be Headquarters and Merchandise at all 5 locations for 2026 Youth Provincials. They will run during tournament hours, and will have Alberta Basketball signage, and be clearly visible. Pre - Orders for Merchandise will be picked up at Headquarters at your teams first game location, please pass this information along to your team. 

 

We’ve added a fun opportunities for families attending 2026 Youth Provincial: 

- A Balloon Artist

- A Face Painter 

  • - An Airbrush Tattoo Artist 
  • Locations and Time still TBD 

 

We are excited to be in Calgary and grateful to all the volunteers that have stepped up to assist!
